Latest News - Skywalkers Basics Skills Camp March 2008

In March, at the beginning of our Spring Blow Out Boogie, we welcomed the Skywalkers and their annual Basic Skills Freefly Camp.

Norwegian Freefly Champions, the Skywalkers came equipped with 11 coaches teaching one-to-one, with 32 participants, we saw many skydivers manage lots of jumps:

Coaches, Mathias Holtz and Håvard Flaat managed the most coaching jumps with 90 each, Phillippe Thibodeau 80, Fabian Raidal 79 and the other coaches averaging 70 jumps each.

Kjell Svanes managed 32 coach jumps, with most participants getting between 23 and 56 one-to-one jumps. Kristian Johansen got in 23 coached jumps and 68 fun jumps.

Skydive Spain would like to thank the Skywalkers, the coaches and all the participants for a really great couple of weeks, and a big thanks to Ron Holan who put in lots of hard work on the ground to get the participants in the air!!!

Skywalkers and Coaches go fun jumping after a hard day's coaching

The Skills camp got off to a great start, arriving at the DZ for a docs and kit check, then they were split into groups to cover different skill sets, from packing to canopy control.

Each day saw the Basics Camp arrive bright and early, starting with a seminar for the day ahead. Anniken took control of organising an early morning Yoga session, which the participants enjoyed - partly because some of our staff wanted to be involved.

The coaches were getting in 8 to 12 coaching jumps each day with the participants have the opportunity for fun jumps in between coached jumps to help practice the new skills being covered.

After a day's hard work, the coaches took to the skies for fun jumps, with some head down and tracking jumps.
