1. What should I wear/bring?
This will depend on the time of year you are jumping. During the colder months it is advisable to wear several warm thin layers. In the summer you could wear shorts and T-Shirt! Trainers or flat soled shoes are ideal footwear. You will be given a jumpsuit to wear over your clothing along with a helmet and goggles.
2. I wear glasses and/or contact lenses, will this be a problem?
There is no problem! Goggles are worn by all skydivers and these will keep your spectacles or contact lenses protected and firmly in place
3. Can I bring spectators or pets?
You can bring any spectators along, but please make sure that children are supervised at all times. No alcohol can be consumed before/during the activity and alcohol is not permitted out of the café/bar areas. The airfield provides a restaurant and terrace for refreshments afterwards. No pets (dogs) are permitted on the airfield. Please remember we are on an active airfield, and we reserve the right to ask any spectators to remain in the café/bar areas.
4. Can I eat food before my skydive?
Yes, you can. There is no reason why you should not eat normally on the day of your jump. We recommend also drinking plenty of water, especially during the summer months. The heat, the waiting and the excitement will take a lot of your energy and you will be feeling much better if you have eaten normally.
5. Are there any restrictions if I am disabled?
People of varying levels of disability can participate in a Tandem skydive, however we must know the full details in advance of the booking and a fitness form must be signed. Please contact the centre for more information. For safety reasons your Instructor has the final decision on your suitability to do the jump.
6. How long does the experience take?
When making a booking you are given an arrival time on the day of your jump. This is the time we want you to arrive at the office on the dropzone to register for your jump, this is not the time of your jump. For individual bookings or small groups of up to 3 people, we endeavour to complete your experience within 3 hours of your arrival time. Obviously for larger groups, the completion of all jumps can be considerably longer. Due to the many variables which affect our sport we advise that you keep the whole day free. Please be as prompt as possible, because we operate on a 'first come, first jump' basis. This means if your arrival time is 10am, and you are late, there is a chance the customers booked in at 10.30am may arrive before you, and they will jump first.
7. What if I am afraid of heights?
This is a very commonly asked question. Many people who have come along to skydive have believed they have a fear of heights. We all have a natural awareness that heights can be dangerous and this can easily be confused with a phobia. If you really had an intense fear of heights it is very unlikely you would be thinking of doing a skydive! If you have no fear of flying it is unlikely you will have a problem. Unlike standing at the top of a ladder or looking over a tall building you will have no real comprehension of how high you are, due to no reference.
8. Can I breathe in freefall?
Yes! Your freefall speed is around 125 mph but you are able to breathe perfectly normally through nose and mouth.
9. Can I have my skydive filmed?
Yes, it is possible to have your skydive filmed and photographed. For the tandem skydive your camera flyer will exit the aircraft with you to capture your free fall experience. As a result it is only possible for each camera flyer to film one person at a time. The video will be handed on DVD and the photos will be handed on CD approx. 30 minutes after the landing of the jump. The price quoted on the website is per person and for video (DVD) and digital photos (CD). If you like the option of recording your jump, please let us know upon booking.
10. What is the refund policy?
All deposits and gift vouchers are non-refundable. However, we would transfer the skydive to another person of your choice should you need to do so. The person replacing you must conform to the relevant age, weight and health requirements (see restrictions for details). Any transfer of name must be done 10 days prior to the jump date or voucher expiry date.
11. Can I extend my gift voucher?
Yes. There is a standard 50,00 fee to extend the voucher for another 3 months (the regular validly is 12 months after purchase). Vouchers can only be extended once. You would also need to pay any difference in price since the voucher was purchased. To extend a voucher simply call our office giving the voucher number. Refer to the CONTACT page for details.
12. What if the weather is unsuitable?
All aviation activity is dependent on suitable weather conditions, of which we mostly have in southern Spain. However, weather conditions such as rain, heavy low cloud or high winds can all prevent your skydive going ahead. If you cannot complete your skydive due to weather conditions you will be able to arrange another date at no extra cost. You have up to 12 months from your original jump date in which to re-book your skydive.
13. How safe is skydiving?
Thousands of people skydive every year. Skydiving is an adventure sport and as a result there are risks attached. However, compared to other adventure sports such as skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing etc. skydiving has far less injuries.
14. What happens if the parachute does not open?
The simple answer is that all skydivers carry a main and a reserve parachute. If the main parachute fails to open the reserve would be used. During your tandem skydive this procedure will be done by your Instructor. In addition to the two canopies there is an automatic device known as an Automatic Activation Device (AAD), which would open the reserve parachute if the instructor were unable to do so.
