General Questions
You can bring any spectators along, but please make sure that children are supervised at all times. No alcohol can be consumed before/during the activity and alcohol is not permitted out of the café/bar areas. The airfield provides a restaurant and terrace for refreshments afterwards. No pets (dogs) are permitted on the airfield. Please remember we are on an active airfield, and we reserve the right to ask any spectators to remain in the café/bar areas.
Yes, you can. There is no reason why you should not eat normally on the day of your jump. We recommend also drinking plenty of water, especially during the summer months. The heat, the waiting and the excitement will take a lot of your energy and you will be feeling much better if you have eaten normally.
When making a booking you are given an arrival time on the day of your jump. This is the time we want you to arrive at the office on the dropzone to register for your jump, this is not the time of your jump. For individual bookings or small groups of up to 3 people, we endeavour to complete your experience within 3 hours of your arrival time. Obviously for larger groups, the completion of all jumps can be considerably longer. Due to the many variables which affect our sport we advise that you keep the whole day free. Please be as prompt as possible, because we operate on a ‘first come, first jump’ basis. This means if your arrival time is 10am, and you are late, there is a chance the customers booked in at 10.30am may arrive before you, and they will jump first.
All aviation activity is dependent on suitable weather conditions, of which we mostly have in southern Spain. However, weather conditions such as rain, heavy low cloud or high winds can all prevent your skydive going ahead. If you cannot complete your skydive due to weather conditions you will be able to arrange another date. You have up to 12 months from your original jump date in which to re-book your skydive. If your original booking was with a discount coupon or for a promotional item with date restrictions for the jump and you rebook outside of those dates, there will be additional charges to increase your payment to the standard price.
This will depend on the time of year you are jumping. During the colder months it is advisable to wear several warm thin layers. In the summer you could wear shorts and T-Shirt! Trainers or flat soled shoes are ideal footwear. You will be given a jumpsuit to wear over your clothing along with a helmet and goggles.
Skydiving Questions
Thousands of people skydive every year. Skydiving is an adventure sport and as a result there are risks attached. However, compared to other adventure sports such as skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing etc. skydiving has far less injuries. Your tandem instructor will be in direct physical contact with you, attached with an harness, right behind you.
The simple answer is that all skydivers carry a main and a reserve parachute. If the main parachute fails to open the reserve would be used. During your tandem skydive this procedure will be done by your Instructor. In addition to the two canopies there is an automatic device known as an Automatic Activation Device (AAD), which would open the reserve parachute if the instructor were unable to do so.
Yes! Your freefall speed is around 125 mph but you are able to breathe perfectly normally through nose and mouth
This is a very commonly asked question. Many people who have come along to skydive have believed they have a fear of heights. We all have a natural awareness that heights can be dangerous and this can easily be confused with a phobia. If you really had an intense fear of heights it is very unlikely you would be thinking of doing a skydive! If you have no fear of flying it is unlikely you will have a problem. Unlike standing at the top of a ladder or looking over a tall building you will have no real comprehension of how high you are, due to no reference.
AFF Course Questions
Without any previous experience, you can start your AFF course right away. The course is designed for beginners and you will be taught all the necessary requirements in the ground training prior to jumping in order to feel secure and confident about your first jump. Our AFF Courses include the AFF Tandem as the first step, this is an invaluable part of the course and is not optional. The AFF tandem skydive introduces you to the aspects of freefall and flying the parachute in a more relaxed and less pressured environment.
Previous experience with static line jumps definitely will help you while training AFF as you are less nervous and prepared for a good plane exit position. There are some parts in the ground work which you need to learn and you will go through the same process of the AFF program as other students. If you have jumped static line before, please contact our Office regarding possible conversion to AFF.
As we will provide you with all the necessary rental skydiving material (jumpsuit, helmet, goggles, altimeter), please make sure to bring comfortable and sportive clothing and shoes. Trainers are preferred for jumping. During the short winter (although temperatures are never that low in Seville), we also recommend to wear long sleeves and to bring some warm gloves, scarf, hat etc for the time in between jumps. If you wear glasses, bring your sporting glasses or lenses. If needed you can wear your glasses during the jump, we can provide you with skydiving goggles to wear on top of your own glasses.
The duration of the course depends on each individual while each student sets his own pace for the jumps and depends also on other factors like weather, sunset times, your skills, etc. However, the average duration to complete AFF Course Gold Package is 3-4 days, although we recommend having a full week available. In another 4-5 days, you should be able to complete all your solo jumps (consolidation jumps) and coach jumps included on the Platinum Package.
Not necessarily as there are many students who pass the course and its seven levels with seven jumps. However on average, students tend to repeat one of the AFF levels.
You have paid in advance for the AFF Basic Course for the discounted price. There is a special price on these packages. You cannot use some of that money towards any necessary repeat levels. Please come with a amount of contingency money for any possible repeat levels.
Finishing and passing the AFF Course does not make you eligible for the A-license right away as this would be a later hurdle requiring more skills. We have the qualified instructors to help you gain your British (BPA) or American (USPA) A-License.
Once you have been graduated from your AFF Course, you are still officially a “student in consolidation status” being supervised by an instructor. During the next jumps which you will do on your own, there are still some skills for you to learn and to perform while receiving learning aims and feedback of your previous AFF instructor on each jump. During those 10 solo jumps you will gain more confidence and routine before working on the next step of your skydiving career: the A-license.
In case you are not able to finish your AFF Course for whatever reason, the remaining jumps of the course can be finished at a later date, however, please make sure you are aware of our currency requirements laid out in your AFF Course Manual. The unused AFF Level jumps will be credited and will be on hold for a timeframe up to one year (12 months) after booking, although the currency requirements are strict, they are for your safety.
Now you can take the opportunity to experience jumping solo, with the assistance of two instructors, without committing to a full AFF Course.
With our new AFF 1.0 package, a 2 day course, you can experience the full AFF ground training, a AFF tandem where, you will learn some basic maneuvers to prepare you for the final stage, and a Level 1 skydive. You will be able to jump along two instructors to experience the thrill of free falling alone and operate your own parachute for landing.
If you have started SL/RAPS training but want to progress faster, please contact us and we´ll explain how we can help you.
