Beyond the limits: The story of Claudia Lopez and her skydive jump

Thursday, January 22, 2026

Claudia Lopez, a young woman from Seville who lives with a rare neurodegenerative disease for which there is currently no cure, dared to do something a few days ago that she will always remember: a tandem skydive from 13,000ft.

Together with the Airfield of the Juliana, who kindly invited her to make the jump, and our Skydive Spain – Colabora project, through which we seek to help improve the lives of people facing great challenges, we shared the recording of Claudia’s skydive.

Claudia’s overcoming of this challenge was a way for her to show that, despite the difficulties imposed by her illness, she remains determined to live authentic experiences, embrace every opportunity and inspire those around her, including, of course, her family. Claudia also demonstrates her worth in her daily life as a career civil servant in the Public Administration.

Claudia’s story is linked to that of ENACH, an association created by Antonio López, her father, who decided not to give up in the face of a diagnosis that could have discouraged anyone.

Anyone interested in helping to combat this disease can find more information here. *The association promotes and funds research into the chronicity and cure of neurodegenerative diseases that involve brain iron accumulation (NBIA).

Thank you very much, Claudia, for sharing this experience with us!
